What about the aussie system ? that worked, they were vilified in the press etc but it did work !

One huge thing we should do is to remove all the benefits they get as soon as they enter the country, Its total madness !

Bring back workhouses? Have them under armed guard, doing 6 hour shifts on some basic labour for their room, bed, 3 meals a day and clothes and a small card for additional purchased from a tuck shop style thing run by locals from the area the house is in providing some local employment too

Hi, it’s me that Southern chap who for most of last twenty years has been and is an expat. I live in South France with my French family. Which really upsets remoaners on Twitter.

I recently spotted a new book review in DT ‘Conservatism a Rediscovery’, by Yoran Hazony. I have it saved to buy it. In the widest sense it echoes many of your arguments. It struck a cord with me. Putting eloquently into words how I and many view aspects of Conservation as it should be represented in the UK and once was.

I am a free marketer Thatcherite who values UK history and what it still means to many in the world. Conservative’s naturally value the environment and inclination is to protect it. However, climate change if it is a valid concern needs to be approached from a reasonable perspective, want it tomorrow or 2030 is not to my mind reasonable. A truly Conservative Government would have spent last ten yrs developing clean coal so our natural wealth could be extracted and used. Present Government must put national security in front of mindless middle class idiots and Manhattan project the fracking of Gas.

However to my mind the biggest threat facing the free world where this party should be the natural defenders is the battle with the anti enlightenment death cult that operates under the brand name of Woke. I fear if this plunge into a new Dark Age is not stopped, old northern bloke, myself and many other likeminded souls will find themselves being literally burnt at the stake for blasphemy against the UK’s secular religion The NHS or something else dear to their hearts like that idiot remoaner on LBC.

Another problem with the ECHR or even our own bill of rights is that the Lawyers will use it against us, Look at the dodgy excuses they are using to keep convicted criminals in the country. Also we need to get deporting those that can be,
I believe that this should be taken away from the home office and that we need an Immigration/Illegal immigration dept.
Whoes sole aim is to remove illegals and deport criminals.

All the time it rests with the home office nothing will change.

Maybe make it best practice when a criminal is a dual national with British citizenship or residency that it gets removed and they're deported to that country they're a dual national or national of with a permenent ban list. People would try what about parents ... Personally I'd say still deport them and offer to pay £20,000 to the family to move to the country the parent is in while giving up their British residency if possible.

The soft touch our country is percieved to have needs to be shattered harshly lest we continue to be taken advantage of

The simple fact is, we should recognise it, we should alter it and make a new British convention of human rights and allow other countries to sign upto it if they want.

We should also pull out of refugee conventions and create a parallel system to the global order that suits Britain and the greater British public.

With brexit the people voted for sovereignty we need to return supremacy of our laws and courts to the public, that suit the British public.

INTRODUCE YOURSELF / Hello, it's me that northern bloke

Hey, I'm HemsTory otherwise known in real life as Arnold. From the north of England.

I'd say I'm culturally conservative, socially moderate and economically traditionalist and pro free markets.

I'm very unPC, brutally honest, hate lies and respect people who say what they mean and stick by their statements.

At the time of writing this I'm currently sadly suspended from the conservative party, due to CCHQ projecting racism onto some statements that were either, joke replies to a joke mock MP account, who would've thought replying to Zarah Bukake would've been taken seriously? Not me.
As well as replying to a black nationalist and someone belittling the UK after the British people after the queen's death with the phrase, "when we arrived in Africa they had small cities and villages with mud huts, when the British left, you had Jet aircraft, Motorcars, modern sanitation and healthcare" which was apparently white supremacist rhetoric, instead of a statement of fact designed to put down that argument. And then two poorly worded tweet to one Ash Sarkar, which I'll be honest not my finest moment and instead like an adult messaging in private, she went straight to CCHQ and complained, they of course took the "I'm literally a communist" ladies side racistly lumping everyone who wasn't white into the "BAME" category (which personally very offensive as I have afro-carribean/English mixed relatives and if you called them bame they'd be offended) and claimed offense on her behalf taking every tweet very much out of context in that debate, seen as it was made in anger and grief at the queen's passing that as an Englishman (a disabled one if we are playing oppression Olympics also working class) very offensive and I will stick behind my #DeportSarkar statement as a republican communist has no place within the United kingdom and especially influencing CCHQ and the conservative party.(let's just say telling my friends in real life about this situation they've single handedly lost over 50 votes in a now marginal labour constituency).

As you can tell, Not PC, not a fan of race politics and find it abhorrent, proud of the British empires achievements unapologetically and accepts it's not so bright moments, patriotic and passionate about the UK as an Englishman and don't think people should be cowed especially by the "conservative" in reality neo-liberal establishment in saying so (when their only values are free markets). Principal and true, old school conservatism is needed in my opinion, you cannot grow without deep roots and an understanding of them, a tree cut off from them may stand in calm weather but in a gale it will tumble and cause alot of damage when it does.

I'd say my interest in policy areas are, education, healthcare, infrastructure, heavy industries and agriculture as well as immigration.

As you maybe able to tell, I'm very eloquent and articulate, sadly a tortured soul with no real connection to make use of it.

Let's use this forum to rebuilt the minds, values and policies of conservatives no matter what party they belong to, be it a small right wing party, or the conservatives, or reform and reclaim. lets make the British unite under a set of truly conservative core policies and values or at least make policies that make us all equally unhappy but content.

Thankyou for reading and let's get conservative Dynamism restarted and roaring with intellectual vigour.
